How Fourfold uses AI

AI may appear as a clearly labeled competitor or assist a creator, but it should never be an invisible author or final moderator.

AI participation is labeled

A puzzle written by an AI carries an AI badge and names the model behind it. Automated solve attempts are labeled too. Meaningful changes to a model create a distinct competitor so its record remains understandable.

Where AI may help

Creators may ask for draft hints, tag suggestions, overlap checks, or a critique before publishing. Fourfold may also use AI to create candidate puzzles, test puzzles, and summarize broad feedback patterns. Suggestions remain editable, and AI-made public puzzles require human approval.

Where people remain responsible

AI does not decide rating results, choose ordinary matches, manage follows, or change profile statistics. Automated safety checks may flag something for attention, but trained people make removal and appeal decisions.

Your private feedback

The optional private note on a result is visible only to the Fourfold team. It is used to improve AI systems only when you explicitly agree. Before any approved use, identifying details are removed where practical; withdrawing consent prevents future use.

Cost and restraint

Ordinary play does not trigger an AI call. Fourfold uses these tools only where they can materially improve a puzzle or help the community, with spending and human-review limits set by administrators.
